“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the New York Times bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Dash walks into a used book store with nothing more in mind that perusing the books. Something he does often to occupy his time. When he heads to his favorite section there is a red Moleskin journal wedged between the books. He takes down the journal and reads...
“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”
What else does Dash have to do with his time? So he decides to bite. It turns out the red Moleskin is full of dares, kind of like a scavenger hunt, all written by some girl named Lily.
Lily never thought anything with the journal would ever happen. She didn't even place it the book store, her brother Langston did. He said it would help her find that special someone. The only thing is that, the only thing about her in the journal is where the journal was placed. Then all of a sudden Lily gets a text message from her cousin that works at the book store saying that someone found the book and has left her something in return.

Soon Dash and Lily are using the Moleskin journal to communicate with each other, and do dares throughout New York City. Will the book supply nothing more than a pass time and a pen pal for both of them? Or could they be finding love?

I was a little apprehensive about reading Dash & Lily's Book Of Dares, I haven't heard a whole lot about it. I am very glad that last night out of all the books on my shelf waiting to be read, that I picked up this one. I do wish that I had read it a little closer to Christmas, it is a great holiday read. I am sure that when the time comes closer to the holidays that I will be re-reading this book though, it is good enough to read again and again and possibly even again. It is so amazing. The chapters alternate between Dash and Lily, so that you have the opportunity to get the perspective of both characters, which I believe was essential.  There are very amazing supporting characters, my favorite was Boomer, he is sloppy and childish, but loyal. Dash & Lily's book of dares is breath-taking! At times I was laughing out loud( I am sure I got some strange looks) and others I was tearing up. I couldn't help but feel for the characters, and react to their trials. I have never read a book quite like this one before. Its very original and alluring... from the very first page I didn't put it down... I couldn't! I had to find out what was going to happen between Dash and Lily. I wish that I had a book of dares... and of course a Dash! This is a must read in my eyes!
