24 Hour Read A Thon

Hey Everyone! Tomorrow I will be participating in the 24 Hour Read-a-thon being hosted by
24 Hour Read-a Thon , I can't wait! I am currently compiling all the books that I will be reading during the read-a-thon. I have never participated in one before, so if anyone has any suggestions ... for anything (ex. books, background noise, drinks, snacks) please let me know. I am kind of going into this blindfolded, but I am sure that it is going to be a blast :). I think that I have done everything that I need to... I have a pile of books (which I have listed below), I am making my husband make me yummy snacks, and I will have a pot of coffee on!. I will be updating, through out the read-a-thon via twitter... so make sure that you follow me! I might even have something to giveaway to one of my twitter followers... I guess you will have to stay tuned! If you are participating in Dewey's 24 hour read-a-thon also please leave a link to your blog in the comments.

My Reading List:
Afterlife - Claudia Gray
Angelfire - Courtney Allison Moulton
Unearthly - Cynthia Hand
Once In A Full Moon - Ellen Schreiber
Anna and the French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins

I am sure that I will throw in a few children's books in there, so that I can read with my daughter as well. I can't wait! WHOOO!

@ Jessica A. Right On! I don't know anyone else in the read-a-thon... but a whole 24 hours of reading? whats better than that?

Also for the read-a-thon I will be in the car on a mini road trip to Connecticut but I will be reading and will update once I get home... I will also be updating via twitter... in which I will give something away during the day today.

  9. Getting other people to make you snacks is one of my favorite parts of the readathon!

  11. (Non)traditional Buddhist readathon blessing:

Just as the books fill the shelves,
Pile together on the floor and stack up on the table
So may the joy of the readathon
Flow forth to brighten your day and lift your spirit.
Books already read, books in progress and books yet to be read.

By the power of every word on the page
    May your book be delightful,
    As scary as Lovecraft’s Cthulhu
Or as sweet as a box of See’s candy.

Let the power of the images evoked by words
Keep you stay awake long through the night
    May no obstacle impede
    Your day filled with books.

For all of those who are reading today
Who follow in the path of Dewey
May your day be filled with the four blessings
Of fabulous books, tasty snacks, comfy chairs and joy.
