Unraveled

Title: Unraveled
Author: Gena Showalter
Release Date: Aug 31, 2010
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Source: Kindle

Description:
Since coming to Crossroads, Oklahoma, former outcast Aden Stone has been living the good life. Never mind that one of his best friends is a werewolf, his girlfriend is a vampire princess who hungers for his blood, and he's supposed to be crowned Vampire King—while still a human! Well, kind of.
With four—oops, three now—human souls living inside his head, Aden has always been "different" himself. These souls can time-travel, raise the dead, possess another's mind and, his least favorite these days, tell the future.
The forecast for Aden? A knife through the heart.
Because a war is brewing between the creatures of the dark, and Aden is somehow at the center of it all. But he isn't about to lie down and accept his destiny without a fight. Not when his new friends have his back, not when Victoria has risked her own future to be with him, and not when he has a reason to live for the first time in his life….

Aden and his friends are back in Unraveled. Aden is waiting his impending death, while attempting to figure out where the meeting the witches planned, is being held.

Aden is staying at D and M ranch, a place for out of control teens. In the last year Aden has under gone major changes in his life. He has released one of the spirits that reside inside his head. He has a girlfriend who is a vampire and constantly wants his blood. Made a friend who is a werewolf, and has become a vampire king. Yet he still goes to high school... you thought your life was complicated!

I felt that yet again, the book was based on Mary Ann and her ability. We got more ends tied up in this book, for her verses Aden. Which I was hoping we might see a bit more of Aden this time around. That just wasn't the case.

We also find out a little bit more about Caleb (one of Aden's spirits in his head.) But nothing comes to an end for him and we still don't know who he is at the end of the book. Just who he was associated with more or less.

Some more of the vampires are introduced, which I thought was a really nice change of pace. Victoria's sisters come to play and a rival of Victoria's who is also after Aden. I can't help but like the competition. Where the last book was a closed case with Aden and Victoria, I just didn't know how this book would end up with them.

Riley's brothers are also introduced, and a little bit of Riley's past is revealed. I felt that we didn't really know him before, and that is summed up here.

Although we are introduced to many new and exciting characters, I felt this book, like the last, lacked something. I had a hard time getting into it, and than an even harder time finishing it. Where it stands I am unsure if I would be willing to read the sequel in which the ending shows there will definitely be one. It was even harder to stay interested in Unraveled than in Intertwined. I was also hoping we would have some ends tied up, and learn about Aden's parents. All of which seemed to be completely forgotten about expect for a small...and I mean very small mention stating when were we going to find them. Over all Unraveled just wasn't an IT book for me.
